The CFP for this summer’s conference in Oxford has been posted. I expect to be there discussing some aspect of the OED and poetry.
This symposium will be held at St Peter’s College, Oxford, on 15 June, 2013, with a view to opening up and exploring connections between poetry and the dictionary. Proposals for papers on any aspect of this relation are now invited – discussions of ambiguity, dialect, etymology, and translation, for instance, or considerations of specific poems, poets, and dictionaries. The focus will be on the twentieth century, however proposals for papers treating other periods will also be welcome. Proposals of 300 words, for papers of 20 minutes, should be sent to the organisers, at proposals@poetryandthedictionary.com, by the end of April.
